When an automatic gate suddenly stops, a few simple checks can tell you whether it is a quick fix or a job for a technician. Always put safety first: switch off the power before touching any part of the gate.
- Check the power. Look for a tripped breaker at the distribution board and confirm other outdoor points are working.
- Try another remote. If a second remote works, the first one may just need a new battery.
- Look at the sensors. Make sure nothing is blocking the photocells and wipe the lenses clean.
- Clear the path. Remove leaves, stones or objects from the track or the swing area.
- Check the manual release. After a power cut, the gate may still be in manual mode.
